Nine lotus flowers rendered as neon signs strike one at a time, gather into a density that fills the frame, breathe at their own separate rates, then go out one by one at an accelerating pace. On Vulture Peak the Buddha held up a flower and said nothing; only his student Mahākāśyapa smiled. The lotus here has become commercial signage, and still points at the same thing.
